Newport Water District | Payments

The District is pleased to announce that our customers may now make credit/debit card payments on our website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The same service is available at our office during regular business hours (Mon - Fri 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).

A quick click links to Maine PayPort Online, a third-party service working in partnership with the State of Maine and the District. By using this third-party service, your credit card information is processed at a secure site.

As with our over the counter service, customers will be assessed a 2.5% service fee for each transaction over $40 and a minimum of $1 for transactions that are $40 or less. This fee is not retained by the District; the fee goes to the third-party service.

All that is needed to pay your bill on line is your Account Number/Service ID and a valid credit card. Your Account Number/Service ID is located on the top left of your bill. If you do not have your account number, please call the office and we can provide it to you. If you are paying a disconnection notice, please notify our office after making the payment to avoid further service charges and/or disconnection. Payments are credited to your account on the next business day after you make the payment.

Make certain to select NEWPORT WATER DISTRICT on the maine.gov page. Just click the link below to go to a secure site to pay your water bill with your credit or debit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express only).

For any questions regarding this new service, please contact our office by calling (207)368-4314 during business hours or email nwdoffice@myfairpoint.net anytime.

The PayPort service is offered by a third party working in partnership with the State of Maine and this municipality. As part of our service to you, we will remit the designated portion of your payment to the water district on your behalf. The balance funds the operation of this and other Maine.gov online services. Conducting business through Maine PayPort is voluntary and the final cost may be higher than using other forms of payment. This service is provided by the Information Resource of Maine (InforME) as designated in statute of (M.R.S.A.Title 1, Ch. 14).
